Studio Dimensions

The Space In Numbers

A large railway arch studio — more room than most London studios at this price point. Enough depth for full-length fashion work with real camera-to-subject distance.

112 sq m Total floor area
14m deep Full depth of the shooting space
8m wide Width at the widest point
4.75m high Height at the arch apex
5–6m shooting distance Camera to subject for full-length fashion
10m max length Maximum available shooting depth

The stage area is 6m × 5m. Ceiling height is generous enough for boom arms, overhead rigs, and long lens work without compromise. The movable workbench (1.2 × 2.4m) can be repositioned to free up more floor space.

The Studio

Studio Space & Setup

A practical, working studio designed for a wide range of shoots — from simple portrait setups to complex multi-light builds. Railway arch construction means full blackout capability and a characterful space that works equally well for stills and video.

Key Features

  • Full blackout for complete lighting control
  • Suitable for stills and video production
  • Flexible layout depending on your setup
  • Ground floor — no steps, easy load-in
  • Private yard with space for one car
  • Range of set-building materials and rigging options

Stage & Working Areas

  • Stage area for shooting: 6m × 5m
  • Large tether table: 1.2 × 2.4m
  • Production office / changing room
  • Dedicated MUA area with Hollywood mirror
  • Equipment storage / optional second changing area

A Note On Train Noise

The studio is a railway arch, so there is regular train noise. For video work it is manageable for most productions, but if clean audio recording is critical to your shoot, please call ahead and we can advise whether the studio is right for your project.

From Arrival To Wrap

What To Expect On The Day

Arrival

Please allow enough time for travel and use the full postcode — which is for the yard entrance only — on your map app. Look out for the railway bridge, the blue gates, and the Lost In Yoga signage. Walk down the alley and knock on the shutter door. If you’re early, you’re welcome to wait in the reception area and use the Wi-Fi.

Setup

Robbie will get everyone settled in the right places — MUA at their station, crew where they need to be. He’ll then talk through the deliverables and the best lighting options for the shoot. A mood board is very useful at this stage so he can see the kind of look you’re going for. While you’re unpacking and getting ready, Robbie will be installing the paper backdrops and setting up the lights for the first scene.

During The Shoot

Robbie stays on site for the full duration — this isn’t a studio that hands over the keys and disappears. He’s on hand to change papers and help with the large boom arm on all tiers. On Standard tier, just call him from the reception desk when you need changes. On Premium tier he’s essentially part of your team — an extra pair of eyes making suggestions and helping with reflectors, lights, wind machines, and anything else that comes up. After six years and thousands of shoots, he has a good sense of what needs to happen and when.

Wrap & Overtime

Robbie will dismantle the lights and roll up the background paper — you just need to pack your gear, styling, and sets and be out within 5–10 minutes of your finishing time. Once you hit 15 minutes over your booked slot, an overtime payment will be due. If it looks like you might run over, let Robbie know 15–30 minutes beforehand so he can check whether there’s anyone booked in after you.

The Vibe

Robbie is both the studio owner and a working photographer, so he understands how stressful shoots can be. After hosting thousands of sessions he knows the best work happens when people are relaxed and not under pressure — so keeping the atmosphere good is always the priority. Just one rule: don’t be late. It’s his number one pet hate, and the number one way to create unnecessary stress and end up paying for overtime. If you have any other questions before your shoot, the FAQs page covers most of what people ask.
