Fabric Rigging System — Photography Studio Add-On
What Is the Rigging System?
The fabric rigging system at Arch Photo Studio is a pair of 5-metre aluminium poles — 50mm diameter — mounted horizontally on 3-metre C-stands. The rails run across the width of the shooting space at a consistent height, giving you a solid overhead structure to hang anything from. It’s simple, sturdy, and genuinely versatile. Available as an add-on to any studio hire for £20. studio hire for £20.

What Can You Hang From It?
The rails are used for hanging fabrics, plastic sheeting, paper backdrops, set dressing, and products. The Carlos Metamorphosis shoot shown here used large navy drapes hung from the system to create a dramatic framed set — the fabric becoming part of the composition rather than just a background. The BTS shot shows plastic sheeting with a graffiti-sprayed surface hung from the same rig, used as a textured backdrop for a fashion shoot. Fabrics can be draped, pulled, bunched, or left to fall naturally — models can move with them, through them, or against them.

Fabrics Available
A selection of fabrics is available to hire with the system — more details and photos coming soon. If you have something specific in mind, get in touch before your shoot and we can check what’s in stock. You’re also welcome to bring your own fabric, plastic sheeting, or set dressing to use with the rails.

Who Uses It?
The rigging system gets used across a wide range of shoots — fashion editorials, music portraits, dance and performance photography, short-form video, and creative personal projects. Any shoot that needs depth, movement, or an alternative to a plain backdrop is a good candidate. It works equally well in the white studio space and in the blackout setup.
